Reports in Total Materia provide a convenient way for users to generate PDFs containing comprehensive information necessary to facilitate their daily tasks related to materials. This feature allows for the creation of easy-to-read documents that assist engineers in justifying their material choices. Each decision is backed by trusted sources such as Standards, Producer datasheets, and scientific publications. These reports can include detailed comparisons of materials, which is particularly useful for material selection or replacement decisions.
One of the key advantages of this feature is its ability to compile all relevant data into a single document, allowing engineers to present their findings clearly and efficiently. The inclusion of references makes these reports invaluable, as they draw on well-established sources to validate the information provided. This not only aids in the decision-making process but also ensures that all selections are grounded in reliable and authoritative data.
Furthermore, reports generated through Total Materia are used by Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) engineers. These reports serve as supporting documents that can be attached to simulation reports, thus providing a robust dataset that underscores the accuracy and reliability of their simulations. By including all necessary references and comparative information, these reports enhance the credibility of the CAE engineer's work and contribute to a more thorough and justified analysis.
In summary, the Reports featured in Total Materia is an essential tool that enhances the capability of engineers to make informed and justified material choices, backed by a wealth of trusted and authoritative sources.
In the same manner as bookmarks, the first step is to filter the properties and conditions that you would like to integrate in your report. Send then the properties to your report using the Add to Report Builder button . There are many other elements that can be added to a report so make sure to always look for this icon. Other elements that can be added to a report are:
One on One Material comparisons from Cross Reference
Material Comparisons
Life Cycle Assessments
...and many others
The Report Builder tool in Material Console enables you to compose your report in a clear WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface.
The central part of the screen is view only, the edit are performed on the left side menu.
The top bar allows you to:

Export it as PDF
Share the report with a colleague (only available if the report is saved on your profile)
Previous reports can be loaded from the saved report section in My Console. Once loaded you can edit the report as described above and even add elements from a tool or a material page as described above.
On the left side, a drag-and-drop menu enables you to order the different elements and insert simple elements such as page breaks or blank spaces to improve readability. You can also add your own text, which is editable using the pen tool .
