Parameters
Use the Parameters section to configure and organize parameters at either the material, material description, condition or export level. This section also allows users to select different parameter types (text, drop down lists, number, link etc.), define desired parameter items for parameters in the form of drop-down lists, and customize parameter colors.
To create a new parameter or edit/delete an existing one, simply click the "ADD PARAMETER" or
buttons available in the Parameters page.
To search for existing parameters, use one of the three available options:
Enter the full or partial parameter name in the
text box.
Search by parameter type by selecting one or more items from
multi-selectable drop-down list.
Search by where the parameter is used (e.g. condition, material description) by selecting one or more items from
multi-selectable drop-down list.
Assignment of parameter to specific property and material groups is done by clicking the link positioned in the upper right corner of Parameters page.

Configuring Parameters
Clicking the "ADD PARAMETER" button opens a new window for creating a new parameter. Users are obligated to define: Parameter name in "Parameter" text box, parameter type in "Parameter type" drop-down list and where parameter is used in "Used in" multi-selectable check boxes. Setting the parameter color is optional and can be configured by clicking color picker from "Font color" palette.

The First step in defining a new parameter is to set its name in the 'Parameter' text box. Once the desired parameter name is entered, users should define parameter type (by default parameter type is set as "Text") by selecting the appropriate item from the "Parameter Type" drop-down list: "Date" - Parameter as generic date picker field, "Dropdown" - Parameter as drop-down list with defined items, "Link" - Parameter as web link field, "Number" - Parameter as generic number field and comment, "Text" - Parameter as generic text input field in a single line or as "Text area" - Parameter as generic text input filed in multi-line.

To enable multiple selection of parameter items in a parameter type defined as drop-down list, check the checkbox.
When "Number" is selected as the parameter type, a new drop-down list named Unit Groups appears, containing predefined unit items. This allows the users to select a unit group (e.g. Density - [kg/dm³]) for defined parameter. Selecting a unit group is optional and can be left unpopulated.
Before adding new parameters as number parameter types, ensure unit groups are configured in the Units section of Data Maintenance.

The next step in completing the parameter setup is to define its usage by selecting "Used in" check boxes. The parameter can be applied in the three material sections: "Material" - used for defining material, "Material description" - used for material description page and "Condition" - used for property data conditions. These levels can be selected individially or all together.
When "Material" is selected as "Used in" type, the optional "Basic Info" check box is available. Selecting it will impact the parameter visiblibility in the materials Basic Information section. Optionally, if this parameter is mandatory, make sure to check the "Mandatory" check box.
When "Condition" is selected as "Used in" type and parameter type is set as "Dropdown list", the optional "Exporter" check box is available. Selecting it will impact the parameter visibility with inserted parameter items in the selected export page.

Configuration of parameters in the form of drop-down list
Configuration of parameters in the form of drop-down lists is done by clicking the link positioned to the right of "Used in" on the Parameters page. This action opens a new page for editing and creating parameter items.

To add a new parameter item, click the button. This action opens a window where the user can define the item's name and color.
To search existing parameter items, enter the full or partial parameter item name in the search box.
To delete or edit an existing parameter item, click the button on the 'Parameter Items' page.
To return to the "Parameters" section, click the button ocated in the upper-left corner of the "Parameter Items" page.
Configuration of parameters in the form of number
Configuration of parameters in the form of number is done by clicking the link positioned to the right of "Used in" on the "Parameters" page. This action opens a new page for formating of parameter.

Number formatting can be applied both for metric and imperial units separately (click the slider to the right for imperial unit setting). Four format types can be applied, as follows:
"None": Property values are displayed as inserted - no formatting is applied.
"STD(d)": Property values are formatted with defined number of decimals (including 0 decimals) inserted in "Number of decimals" box. Use trailing zeros option can be applied by checking 'Use trailing zeros' checkbox.
"EXP(s)": Property values are formatted with defined number of significant digits inserted in "Number of significant digits" box and displayed in E-labeled scientific notation.
"EXP3(s)": Property values are formatted using a defined number of significant digits inserted in "Number of significant digits" and displayed in E-labeled scientific notation, with the significand as a three-digit integer.
Setting Parameters' Visibility
Adjusting parameter visibility is crucial for setting its display within certain property and material groups. Each parameter can be assigned to a specific property group (e.g. mechanical properties, chemical composition) and a material group (e.g., metals, polymers).
To assign a parameter to specific property and material groups, click the link in the top right corner of the "Parameters" page. This opens the "Setup Parameter Visibility" page. This page includes two search options: a multi-selectable drop-down list
for narrowing the search of property groups and a search field
for filtering already assigned parameters within specific property groups.

After determining the desired property group to which parameter should be assigned, click the link. A new pop-up window named "Assign Parameters" will open, where the desired parameters for selected property groups should be checked.

The final step in completing the parameter visibility setup is to assign the desired material groups by clicking the link. A new pop-up window titled "Assign Material Groups" will open. You can assign parameters to specific material groups by clicking the check box to the left of each parameter name corresponding to the desired material group. Additional options for setting parameter visibility for each material group are available, including:
"Show parameter name in condition": When "ON" enables display of parameter name in condition.
"Show parameter in condition filter": When "ON" enables display of parameter in condition filters (available only for parameters in the form of drop-down list).
"Mandatory": When "ON" parameter is set as mandatory.
Up/down arrows: Set up the parameter order by clicking the arrows up or down for each parameter.

Parameters assigned to material, material description, or condition level can not be deleted until the connected data is removed.
Setting parameter visibility is not required for parameters used at the "Material" and "Material Description" levels.
Only parameters in the form of drop-down list could be used to filter data.
Parameters cannot be deselected from previously assigned property and material groups if released materials have connected data.
