# Standard List

When working on projects that are restricted to using materials prescribed by particular standards, the Standard List search is an indispensable tool. This is frequently the situation in industries such as manufacturing and engineering, especially when dealing with pressure vessels and similar components. Having a comprehensive and precise method to locate these standardized materials can significantly streamline the project workflow and ensure compliance with all relevant specifications. This tool not only aids in maintaining quality and safety standards but also helps in achieving regulatory adherence efficiently.

This search allows you to search by standard organization, standard number, ICS number, or keywords present in the standard descriptions.

The results, a list of standards, are presented differently from the typical material lists resulting from other searches. The columns in this case cannot be customized but allow you to access different types of information, in the order of the columns:

* Standard presents the SDO and the standard description on a second-line
* the Standard number
* the version that can either be a code or simply the release year
* the ICS (International Classification for Standards) number
* Status informs the user if the standard has be replaced by another one, amended, corrected or withdrawn.
* The 4 columns M/D/C/R allow the user to directly access respectively the list of materials defined/mentioned, the dimension table, the coating definitions, or the other standards listed in the document.

Typically users would access the list of materials included in a standard and further work using the [functionalities available ](/search-tools/results-and-material-lists.md)for these lists.
